Know what you take home.

List your event, sell tickets, and understand the complete pricing path before you publish.

The pricing path

One event · three checkpoints

01

Set

Ticket price

The base amount you choose.

02

Show

Checkout total

Fees and tax made visible.

03

Know

Organizer payout

Your net after commission.

01 / How event pricing works

List your event. Sell tickets. See the commission clearly.

RoamingEvents does not use a marketing-plan price for event listing. Ticketing fees are configured for each event and market, then applied to checkout and payout.

01

Event listing

Create and publish an event page with your venue, schedule, ticket tiers, capacity, and attendee information.

02

Ticket checkout

The attendee pays the ticket base price plus any configured booking fee, platform markup, and applicable tax shown in the checkout calculation.

03

Organizer payout

The configured commission is deducted from the eligible ticket base when organizer earnings are calculated. The final payout breakdown records the amounts.

Example structure

Ticket base + booking fee + tax = attendee total

Ticket base − event commission = organizer earnings

Your event’s approved configuration is the source of truth. Use the calculator to model the numbers before publishing.

02 / Understand the total

What makes up a ticket?

The exact amounts depend on your event and market. The job is to make every component visible before the first sale.

ComponentWhat the organizer should check
01Ticket base

The listed ticket amount after any eligible discount. Confirm how it appears in the final checkout and settlement flow.

02Booking fee / markup

The customer-facing platform fee configured for the event. Confirm how it appears in the final checkout and settlement flow.

03Tax on the booking fee

Applicable GST or market tax calculated on the platform fee. Confirm how it appears in the final checkout and settlement flow.

04Organizer commission

The event-specific percentage deducted from organizer earnings. Confirm how it appears in the final checkout and settlement flow.

03 / Follow the money

Two sides of the transaction. One clear settlement.

Some amounts are added to the attendee’s checkout total. Commission is calculated separately from organizer earnings. Keeping those lines separate makes your margin easier to forecast.

A

Attendee checkout

  • Ticket base price
  • Customer-facing booking fee or platform markup
  • Applicable tax on the booking fee
  • Final amount paid before confirmation
O

Organizer settlement

  • Eligible ticket base after discounts
  • Less the commission approved for the event
  • Customer booking fees and tax tracked separately
  • Net organizer earnings shown in the payout breakdown

04 / Settlement by market

The payout path depends on where your event takes place.

The payment provider, commission split, refund treatment, and payout workflow are different for Indian and international events.

India

Razorpay collection, reviewed payout

Admin reviewed
  1. 01

    Customer payment

The attendee pays through Razorpay and the payment is recorded against the booking.

  2. 02

    Settlement calculation

Completed and ended events are checked for eligible payments, commission, booking fees, GST, and refunds.

  3. 03

    Organizer payout

The net amount is grouped into an India payout batch for processing and completion.

International

Marketplace split at checkout

Provider connected
  1. 01

    Connect a payout account

Complete Stripe Connect or PayPal seller onboarding before the event goes live.

  2. 02

    Split the payment

The provider routes the organizer share and keeps the RoamingEvents platform fee according to the event configuration.

  3. 03

    Record the settlement

The payment split snapshot stores organizer net, platform amount, gateway cost, charge model, and refund-relevant values.

Across both flows: refunds reduce recognized organizer earnings, and the final payout is based on the eligible amount remaining after commission and refund adjustments.

05 / Choose the number

Three checks. One confident price.

01

Cost first

Start with production costs, contingency, capacity, and the margin the event needs.

02

Market next

Compare similar formats, venues, audiences, and ticket benefits in the same market.

03

Value always

Make the experience clear enough that the price has a reason behind it.

06 / Build the ticket plan

Every tier needs a job.

A small number of understandable choices is usually stronger than a wall of options. Connect each ticket to a clear audience, benefit, quantity, and deadline.

01

Early bird

A limited release that rewards an earlier decision.

02

General admission

The clearest reference price for the core experience.

03

VIP or premium

A higher-value option with meaningful access or benefits.

07 / Decide how to present it

Absorb the fee or show it at checkout?

An all-in price can feel simpler. A separate fee can keep the advertised ticket price lower. Compare both scenarios and make the final total clear before the attendee pays.

Model both options

08 / Before you publish

10 / Pricing questions organizers ask

Make the economics easier to explain.

How is the RoamingEvents platform commission decided?

There is no single public commission rate for every event. Platform commission and customer-facing fees are configured per event during approval, based on the event and market. The final setup should be confirmed before tickets go on sale.

What does the attendee pay?

The attendee pays the ticket base price plus any customer-facing booking fee or platform markup and applicable tax. For Indian events, GST on the booking fee is itemized in the checkout calculation.

What does the organizer receive?

The organizer payout is calculated from the ticket base after discounts, less the event commission configured by the platform. Customer booking fees and GST on those fees are handled separately in the checkout and settlement breakdown.

How are Indian event payouts settled?

Indian payments are collected through Razorpay. Completed and ended Indian events enter the payout review flow, where eligible payments, commission, booking fees, GST, refunds, and net organizer earnings are calculated before the payout is processed.

How are international event payouts settled?

International organizers connect Stripe Connect or PayPal before going live. Stripe uses a connected-account marketplace payment with a platform application fee, while PayPal uses marketplace platform fees and seller disbursement. The final split is recorded against the payment.

What happens if a booking is refunded?

Refunds reduce recognized organizer earnings and are reflected in the settlement calculation. The payout amount is based on the remaining eligible revenue after the refund adjustment.

Does RoamingEvents have one universal organizer fee?

No. RoamingEvents pricing can be configured by event and market. Use the amounts shown for your event when modelling percentage fees, fixed fees, taxes, payment costs, and payout assumptions.

Should I include fees in the ticket price?

Either approach can work. Compare an all-in price with a separate-fee price in the calculator, then choose the presentation that best fits your audience and margin.

How should I choose my ticket price?

Use your break-even point, comparable events, audience willingness to pay, capacity, and the value of the experience together. No single input gives a reliable answer on its own.

How do early-bird and VIP tickets help?

They give different audiences a clear choice. Early bird creates a reason to commit sooner, while VIP should add benefits that are easy to understand and worth the difference.

11 / Pricing you can stand behind
